CSR in Health and Safety
An award winning initiative
The health and safety of employees, sub-contractors and all those we come into contact with is of paramount importance. To promote safe practices at work we launched the ACTIVE (Aware Compliant Trained Informed Vigilant Effective) campaign in 2008. Its aim is to improve performance and protect communities, and encourage staff to take responsibility for their own health and safety, while complying with legislation and Company policy. As such, all of our sites are signed up to the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
Directors and senior managers conduct regular safety tours, we publish in-house health and safety bulletins and newsletters, while it is compulsory for all site staff to hold CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) cards. ACTIVE is independently audited and has been praised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Our health and safety performance is in the Constructing Excellence top quartile. We are members of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), British Safety Council and the Chartered Institute of Building.
