United House was the first contractor to establish the Resident Liaison Officer role, and since then we have become industry leaders in social housing refurbishment having delivered improvements to over 300,000 homes.
Typical works include kitchen and bathroom replacement, new heating systems, wall insulation, rewiring, new roofs, cladding, doors and windows as well as general repairs. Properties are often spread across a wide area and it is vital to manage the logistics of refurbishment projects, particularly when, as is usually the case, residents are in occupation.
That is why customer satisfaction, together with health & safety, are our highest priorities and our team of RLOs is dedicated to supporting residents through what can be a stressful time.
We have recently won several major planned maintenance contracts exceeding £250m with clients including Circle, London & Quadrant, Harlow Council and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
We are also pioneers of low-cost retrofit to meet the duel challenges of fuel poverty and climate change. Our low cost WHISCERSTM internal wall insulation process, which won the Ashen Gold Award 2013, is breaking down the barriers to insulating the 7 million solid-walled homes in the UK.
The WHISCERSTM process was developed as a fast and easy retrofit solution to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency in existing stock, whilst reducing fuel bills for thousands of people caught in fuel poverty.
