Sustainability in New Build

Sustainable development for new build is very much influenced by the Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM assessments.

To ensure that United House can deliver on the targets set by Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM, early engagement in the design process is essential. To assist in the process United House is a registered Code for Sustainable Homes assessing organisation and employs a qualified assessor and a qualified BREEAM Retail and Offices assessor.

The Company is undertaking ongoing research into new building techniques such as PassivHaus and is researching and incorporating new technology in order to be able to deliver cost effective sustainable solutions for both energy and water reduction.

Our work is now looking into not just the carbon emissions associated with the operation of new homes but also the embodied carbon associated with the materials supply and construction process to provide a meaningful assessment of the carbon footprint of our new build products.
