KITCHEN
& BATHROOM PACKAGES
Led by Steve Hammond, the Warehouse team (see above)
are primarily responsible for ensuring on site teams get exactly what
they need, when they need it.
Individual properties on a site receive a heating, kitchen and/or bathroom
package, assembled in the warehouse, containing exactly (down to the
last screw or washer) what they require for that day's work on the day
in question, dramatically reducing damage, waste and the opportunity
for theft.
This system of package deliveries was pioneered by United House back
in the 1970s and has been refined over the years and today constitutes
one of, if not the, most efficient ways of delivering materials to site.
This year, we will be celebrating the delivery and installation of our
100,000th Package.

PURCHASING
AND LOGISTICS
With the space to store in a secure environment, we can buy in bulk
at more advantageous prices.
WASTE
MANAGEMENT
All non-essential packaging is removed from materials prior to their
transportation to site either in bulk or as a Package to reduce the
amount of waste that then has to be removed from site.
The
net result of this is that United House can maintain total quality control,
ensure a consistency of service to our sites and thus our clients, respond
quicker to unforeseen requirements and minimise disruption to the Residents
in whose home we are working.
With
supply chain management and quality assurance assuming ever increasing
importance, the Warehouse is a valuable as well as unique asset.
