On Saturday 19 November 2011 United House supported the annual Mole Valley residents’ planning day. The event was held in the communal garden area at Wotton House on the Goodwyns Estate, Dorking.
United House sponsored the Bouncy Castle and the face painter, Resident Liaison Officers Sharon Carter and Lorraine Pearce also attended to lend a hand.
Mole Valley Housing Association has unveiled plans to transform the under-used communal area between Porteridges, Crouchfield and Willets flats, on Goodwyns Estate into a flourishing community garden.
Plans and sketches for the new and improved community green space were revealed on the day, and local residents, were invited to have a say in the plans and share their ideas.
As well as discussing the exciting plans for the area, residents and their families enjoyed a bouncy castle, face painting, a balloon race, giant buzz wire and other games.
Resident Caroline Whyte said: “This has been a great day. Lots more residents got involved than I expected. It looks like all residents’ ideas seem to tally with each other, which is a good start. I have been here 12 years and met residents today that I have never spoken to before and hope the communication continues. It will be nice to be proud of our communal garden.”
Sharon Carter, Senior Resident Liaison Officer, said: “The day really was a great success. There was an excellent turn out of residents who came along with their families to have their say on the landscape plans whilst enjoying the fun activities”
