health and safety
United House provides a safe and healthy working environment for our staff and we consistently outperform the industry average in this key area.

site health and safety
Directors are responsible for site health and safety.
Our safety manual assists managers and directs them in health and safety matters. It includes the systems, training, registers and inspections necessary to develop the Construction Health and Safety Plan.
Our Quality System is certified to ISO 9001 to ensure compliance with all legislation including CDM.
Our sites are regularly inspected to ensure that they stay clean, tidy and safe.
training
Training and previous experience records are maintained by Human Resources and we maintain a training matrix to ensure staff have the experience commensurate with their responsibilities. We ask our staff to carry out only those tasks for which they are trained and competent.

Training may include formal courses, distance learning, secondment, workshops, etc. Records carried out by staff are added to the personnel database. Where staff have received sufficient training but lack experience, they are closely supervised while gaining the appropriate experience.
